Feathertop Tempranillo 2017 Case
In a short space of time, the Alpine Valleys is becoming the spiritual home of Tempranillo in Australia, mainly due to the varieties’ love of our abundant sunshine and cool nights. It has quickly become one of our most popular red wines, selling out within months of release and leaving us all wanting more. The cooler vintage conditions we experienced in 2017 have produced leaner, less fruit-driven wines with more pronounced acid and tannin structures. As a result this Tempranillo looks a little less Australian and a little more Spanish. It displays rich, complex flavours of red berries, dark cherry, earthy spice and tobacco leaf which lead to a powerful palate teaming with vibrant acidity. The fine, textured tannins leave the finish long and dry and will allow this wine will continue to soften and develop gracefully for many years to come. Our love affair with this variety continues to grow.
