Description
Originally from the Italian island of Sardinia, Vermentino loves the nutrient-poor, rocky soils and dry-grown nature of the Feathertop vineyard. Our 2021 version is just starting to develop its’ wondrous ‘slippery’ texture that makes this variety so alluring. The subtle mouth-filling quality accentuates the complex flavours of fresh grapefruit, nashi pear and green apples and provides a seamless sensation across the palate. This is all balanced by vibrant, crunchy acidity that cleanses the palate and leaves the finish crisp and dry. Still in its’ infancy, this wine is a perfect example of Vermentino’s potential for graceful ageing.
