2016 was one of the trickiest vintages we have experienced in the last decade. Hail and frost damage in late 2015 led to a drastically reduced crop which was compounded by an unrelenting heatwave leading into and during harvest. This hastened ripening and resulted in the shortest and most compressed vintage we have seen. Whilst many of the 2016 reds lack the finesse the wines of our region are best known for, they make up for it with their dark, brooding flavour profiles and rich mouth-filling texture. This Shiraz still displays the pepper and spice character synonymous with our style but is backed up by richer notes of stewed plums, liquorice and mocha. The soft, round tannins leave the palate feeling plush and velvety.
