The team at Feathertop sound like a broken record at times but seriously, we can’t tell you how much we love this variety. 2018 heralds the second vintage of 100% Estate grown Riesling – and in the vineyard and winery, we are having a fabulous time getting to know the 8 different clones we planted. We really like what we’re starting to see from our clonal mix with a complexity of flavour and natural acid structure that makes this famous German variety so appealing. It certainly helps when we experience a wondrous vintage such as 2018 with its’ stable, mild daytime temperatures and cool, dry nights. The result is a wine bursting with flavours of fresh lemon, kaffir lime, green apples and hints of florals. The palate is crisp, crunchy and long with the natural acidity leaving the palate bone dry and screaming for more. Will age gracefully for many years to come.
