Description
The extended heatwave leading into harvest 2019, which saw 23 consecutive days of temperatures higher than 35°, would normally spell disaster for ripening grapes, especially for a delicate, early ripening variety such as Pinot Noir. But we breed our vines tough here in the Feathertop vineyard – poor nutrient soils and non-irrigation builds incredible resilience and allows them to cope with just about anything mother nature throws at them. The proof is in this elegant Pinot Noir displaying complex flavours of dark cherry, beetroot, raspberries and sweet and savoury spice. The natural acidity gives the palate vibrancy and the silky, textured tannins leave the finish long and dry. Whilst drinking beautifully now, this wine will age gracefully for many years to come.
