Following the success of our 2017 Pinot Gris, a wine we deliberately made in a slightly off-dry style, we again retained a small amount of unfermented sugar in our 2018 Pinot Gris. In cooler harvests such as those we experienced in 2017 and 2018, this residual sugar provides some much needed texture and mouth-feel to Pinot Gris and acts as a vehicle for the aromatic flavours which, for an earlier ripening variety such as Gris, are naturally less pronounced than in the warmer years. But as with all wines, it?s about balance and the crisp, natural acidity leaves your palate with a sensation of sugar without any cloying sweetness. Displaying classic Gris flavours of honeysuckle, spiced apple and nashi pear, this is a very food-friendly wine. We hope it?s as popular with you as its? predecessor.
