When you venture into our Cellar Door you will find more on display than just our wines and local produce deli! You will also find an interesting plethora of rowing memorabilia. The Boynton’s collection of medals and oars began way back when Kel’s grandfather Valjean Boynton and his brother Frank (F.A.H Boynton) were members of the winning eight in the Head of the River on 1906. Kel’s great uncle Dick Boynton rowed in three Victorian Kings Cup Crews, winning in 1946 and 1947 and was a member of the 1948 Olympic squad but did not compete.
Kel has also participated in many regattas in skulls, pairs, fours and eights with the highlight winning the World Masters sculls and double skulls in Seville, Spain, in 1999 and what remains of one of his very sentimental craft is ensconced above the Deli at Feathertop.
Mieke, Kel’s eldest, also rowed for Victoria before switching sports to become a member of the 2006 Australian Olympic bobsleigh team. Talent sure does run in the family!
Our cellar door is open 7 days a week (closed Christmas Day) from 10am-5pm. We offer free tastings of our wines which change frequently depending on the season and availability. Let our friendly cellar door team take you through a wine tasting of discovery with traditional and alternate varieties including Savagnin, Vermentino, Tempranillo, Prosecco and Friulano that will really get your taste buds going.
In the warmer months we have a lawn and stone terrace for you to take in the mountain and valley views whilst you enjoy lunch or coffee and cake.
Kids are welcome at Feathertop! As a family owned business, we understand what it’s like to take kids to wineries! We have a playground onsite and both our Alfresco Dining Restaurant and Deli have kid friendly food and drink options.
If you are a Summit Cru member, you also have access to your own private Members Terrace, featuring deluxe daybeds, a lush lawn area for bocce and crocquet. This can be booked for private degustations or parties.

Feathertop's private wine & matched food tasting experience "Vino Cucina"! For food & wine lovers the opportunity to sample our beautiful restaurant food paired with our Feathertop hand crafted wines. Together with information about the winery and the varieties we have at Feathertop.This will be delivered by a passionate member of our team in a private setting either in our stunning underground Vault or in the Loft three floors high with a great view of the vineyard. We can tailor to any level of wine knowledge from the causal wine drinker to the wine aficionado. Available from Friday to Monday $20 per person.
