The first Cabernet Sauvignon to leave such an impression in almost a decade is from the famed 2015 vintage, resulting in our first Reserve Alluvium since 2006. The long, mild vintage in 2015 provided ideal ripening conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon, allowing for a prolonged, steady accumulation of grape sugars, flavours and tannins.
A small, single-clone parcel of fruit caught our eye, was fermented separately and given extended maturation time in some very special oak. The result is a wine of great finesse, complexity and structure. The palate is powerful yet elegant, displaying flavours of blackcurrants, rich red berries, tobacco leaf and liquorice. The long, dry finish is dominated by fine, silky tannins which will allow for graceful ageing for many years to come.
